‘Behind locked doors’ investigates the legal and scientific violations surrounding pharmacological experiments in the Arab world, with particular focus to the bioequivalence centres in Jordan and Egypt. These violations question the effectiveness of medicine manufactured in the Arab region, and the side-effects that it may bring to its users.
The documentary also sheds some light on the fraudulent practices of medicine merchants and dealers in order to achieve monetary profit at the expense of the health of the users.
