Trapped In Yemen

Description

الشرح

‘Trapped in Yemen’ examines the human tragedy of about quarter of a million Somalis who have fled their drought-stricken and war-torn homeland to seek refuge in Yemen. Initially, crossing the Gulf of Aden was seen as a lucky escape towards a better future, however, the new destination held further suffering, especially as Yemen was a country facing economic and security crises.

The exacerbated plight of the refugees is best reflected in the struggles they face at the refugee camps as they try to overcome the miserable living conditions or attempt to adapt to them, and in some cases flee the camps altogether in search of a better life in the heart of the country.
